Bhubaneswar: Even as the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department issued yellow alert for heatwave for the next 3 days, eight places in Odisha recorded a maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius and above on Tuesday.
Boudh was the hottest at 42.5 followed by Nuapada (42.4), Sundargarh (42), Jharsuguda (41.6), Sambalpur (41), and Baripada, Nayagarh and Jajpur at 40 degree Celsius.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack registered 36.6 and 37 degree Celsius respectively.

Odisha is unlikely to get any respite from the sweltering heat at least till June 10. Humid conditions will prevail along the coastal districts while the western belt will experience heatwave from June 8 to June 10, the IMD said
There will be little change in the daytime temperature for the next four to five days, it added.
