Bhubaneswar: Even as the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department issued yellow alert for heatwave for the next 3 days, eight places in Odisha recorded a maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius and above on Tuesday.
Boudh was the hottest at 42.5 followed by Nuapada (42.4), Sundargarh (42), Jharsuguda (41.6), Sambalpur (41), and Baripada, Nayagarh and Jajpur at 40 degree Celsius.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack registered 36.6 and 37 degree Celsius respectively.
