Bhubaneswar: Teachers under the aegis of Odisha School and College Teachers’ and Employees United Forum will stage an agitation in Odisha capital on Wednesday.
According to sources, thousands of teachers and employees will gather at lower PMG here to press for their demands. They have threatened to intensify the stir if their demands, including equal salary for equal work, provision of full aid and salary according to the seventh pay commission, are not fulfilled.
“The state government had earlier promised to fulfil at least four of our seven demands till November 30. But no step has been taken in this regard. We will stage a hunger strike if the government refuses to act on our demands,” said committee convener Golak Nayak.
