Bhubaneswar: Evaluation of the annual Matric examination papers in Odisha began on a disquieting note on Tuesday as some teachers returned from their respective centre, protesting against gross mismanagement.
Some teachers after returning from the evaluation centre at Ravenshaw Collegiate School in Cuttack said that they came to know that evaluation was being held for four subjects – Mathematics, English, History and Geography.
They alleged the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) authorities had not apprised them of the evaluation of the subjects in details. “Since we don’t teach these subjects, we had to return from the evaluation centre,” they pointed out.
Similar incidents have also been reported from all 60 centres.
In Balangir, some teachers told the media that the invigilator at Girls’ High School forced them to given an undertaking to visit the evaluation centre daily. “This is applicable for examiners staying within 10 km of the evaluation centre as per the BSE,” they added.
