Bhopal: Odisha teams rained goals in national hockey meets on Friday.
Odisha’s women walloped Telangana 14-0 in their opening match of the 12th Hockey India Senior Women’s National Championship at Bhopal.
Olympians Sunita Lakra and Lilima Minz both contributed in the goal-fest as they returned to domestic hockey from national duty.
In the Hockey India Sub-Junior Men’s National Championship at Goa, Odisha pumped in 18 goals past Andhra Pradesh without reply in their second match.
Captain Arbin Toppo opened the scoring to open the floodgates. Yojin Minz and Rohit Singh netted 5 goals each, Aryan Xess scored 4, Arbin 2, while Bikram Oram and Deonath Nanwar helped themselves to a goal apiece.
Odisha boys will face Manipur in their final pool match on May 9.
