Bhubaneswar: Great news Odisha. An 18-year-old boy from Malkangiri district has won a national-level modelling competition in New Delhi.
Abhishek Bagchi, who hails from MV-7 village near Jagannth Pally, was crowned the winner at the Alee Club Teen India, 2019.
Abhishek has been staying in New Delhi for the past two months to participate in each event of the mega show.
Abhisek had interest in singing, dancing and modelling from his childhood.
“I had a wish to be a celebrity. When I was studying Plus-II in Bhubaneswar, I had auditioned for the modelling competition. Winning each event helped me finally to bag the title,” he said.
Now, Abhishek is pursuing his graduation in Satya Narayan College in Malkangiri district.
“Before giving the audition in Bhubaneswar, I learnt about modelling, ramp walk, and all about a competition from YouTube videos. I got training in New Delhi for 10 days before the competition. After that, I gained confidence to get into the finale,” he added.
Notably, Abhishek has won the show among 15,000 participants from all over India.
“My ambition is to be an actor. With studies, I will prepare myself to participate in Mr India and Mr Universe competitions,” he said.
“I have my family support now. Initially, they were not supporting me,” he added.
