Bhubaneswar: After Karnataka, Puducherry and Tamil Nadu, the Odisha government is all set to launch ‘Integrated Temple Management System’ (ITMS) to facilitate online darshan.
According to sources, a one-stop portal is being developed to allow devotees to avail darshan, perform puja and order prasad from any temple in the state covered under this system.
The pilgrims can also check details related to a temple, its history, pooja rituals and opening and closing time. They will also be able to donate to any temple they wish. The accounts will be under PSU banks, the HDFC bank will provide the payment gateway which will be integrated into the ITMS portal for donations.
“This is a good initiative and lakhs of devotees both from the state and outside would benefit from it. The web portal will be developed without hurting any religious sentiments,” said Law Minister Jagannath Saraka.
Jagannath temple in Puri will be included in the ITMS portal at a later stage, he added.
