Balasore: The owner and employees of a tent house in Odisha’s Balasore district sought forgiveness at Jagannath Temple in Puri for reportedly showing disrespect to the Lord.
According to sources, the staff of the tent house at Jaleswar were found carrying an idol of Lord Jagannath in a pick-up van to West Bengal from Balasore a few days back. As the video went viral as social media, users strongly condemned the careless manner in which the the idol was being carried and demanded an apology from the persons concerned for disrespecting the Lord and hurting the sentiments of millions of devotees.
Following the backlash, the owner of the tent house posted a reply stating that he was extremely sorry for the negligence of his staff. The owner also said he along with his employees, who had committed the blunder, went to Srimandir and atoned for their sins.
Before going to the temple, they went on 24 hours of fasting as a part of penance. They sought forgiveness before the Lord inside and promised to never commit such a mistake in future.
