Bhubaneswar: One more person was arrested on Friday in connection with the loot at Jagannathpur in Pahala on the outskirts of the capital city. The accused has been identified as Santosh Behera.
Police said Santosh was part of the gang that looted cash and valuables worth lakhs of rupees from the house of one Ranjit Mohapatra on May 18.
At the time of loot, Ranjit was undergoing treatment for COVID-19 in a hospital here. Police had earlier arrested two other members of the gang.
Later, Ranjit had registered a complaint in Pahala police station. Based on the complaint, police started investigation into the matter and made the arrests. Police also recovered Rs 30,000 and a gold chain from their possession.
The arrested will be forwarded to court soon, said police.
