Balangir: The vigilance sleuths conducted raids on the properties of Titilagarh ranger Shiba Prasad Nayak in Odisha’s Bargarh on Thursday on charges of possession of disproportionate assets.
According to sources, four vigilance teams are conducting simultaneous raids at four places in Balangir including the ranger’s office and his government quarters at Titilagarh, and his father’s house near Gandhi Stadium in Balangir.
The anti-corruption team of Balangir, Sambalpur, Bargarh, and Sonepur is conducting the raids under the orders of the special vigilance court.
So far, crores of rupees of land property and passbooks of many banks have been seized. The vigilance department also seized some cash during the raid, the sources added.
Notably, a case was filed against him while he was at Ulunda in Sonepur in 2021.
