Puri: The Odisha government on Wednesday announced that appropriate steps are being taken to ensure completion of the ongoing inventory process at the Ratna Bhandar of Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri before the Snana Yatra.
Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan made this announcement as the second phase of the inventory process resumed today. The counting of valuables stored in the Ratna Bhandar is being carried out in a phased manner to ensure proper verification and documentation.

erification is slated to begin on the April 13, as part of a structured plan designed to ensure the accuracy of the inventory. The exercise will be aligned with the inventory conducted in 1978, maintaining consistency with past records.
“Efforts are on to complete the inventory process before the Snana Yatra. It is aligned with the inventory conducted in 1978, Digital photography is also being arranged to create a detailed visual record of the valuables,” the Minister said.
As part of modernization efforts, authorities will use digital photography throughout the counting process. This is aimed at creating an accurate and detailed visual record of the Ratna Bhandar’s contents, ensuring both transparency and the preservation of records.
The Law Minister also assured that the government will take necessary steps to guarantee the long-term security and preservation of the treasury’s assets.
