Bhubaneswar: Rain and thunderstorms may continue in different parts of Odisha over the next five days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday.
While issuing yellow warning of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface winds in many districts, it said hot and humid weather may prevail in some parts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur districts in next 24 hours.
In its midday bulletin, the weather agency said light to moderate rain or thunderstorms may occur at some places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Koraput, Malkangiri, and Boudh up to the morning of Sunday.

usty winds (40-50 kmph) are expected in Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, while gusty winds of 30-40 kmph are likely in several other districts during the period.
On April 5-6, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 40-50 kmph) may occur at isolated places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada.
Besides, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching up to 40-50 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangapur, Koraput and Malkangiri.
On April 6-7, Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching up to 40-50 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, and Rayagada. The weather agency has issued a yellow warning for these districts.
It said there will be gradual fall in day temperature by 2-3 degree Celsius after 24 hours in the state.
