Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience a fresh spell wet weather from March 25 under the influence of an approaching western disturbance, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed.
“There has been a significant decrease in rainfall distribution till March 22. Thereafter, a fresh spell of rainfall and thunderstorm activity is likely to commence from March 23,” an IMD bulletin had said.
Umashankar Das, senior scientist of regional centre here, said that there was a probability of another western disturbance in India on March 23. “Rainfall accompanied by hailstorms and thunderstorms coupled with the gusty surface wind will start from March 23 night and will reach Odisha by March 25,” he said.
He further said that some places in the state will experience moderate rainfall on March 25 while heavy rain may lash the coastal districts on March 26.
On Wednesday, the MeT office had forecast rain in Odisha till March 26. The maximum temperature is also likely to rise by 2-4 degree Celsius during the next 3 days with no change thereafter, it added.
