Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience light to moderate rain from January 9, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Friday.
According to the mid-day bulletin, light to moderate rain or thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places in Bargarh, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh districts between 8.30 am on January 9 and 8.30 am on January 10.
A few places in Nuapada, Balangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh and one or two places in interior Odisha are likely to experience thundershowers during the subsequent 24 hours.
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places in Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Balangir, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and one or two places in the rest of Odisha between 8.30 am on January 11 and 8.30 am on January 12.
The MeT office has also forecast shallow to moderate fog for the next two days. f Coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj are likely to experience fog in the next 24 hours.
The night temperature is very likely to rise gradually by 2 to 3 degree Celsius during the next 3 days, it added.
