Odisha To Experience Rain For 5 More Days; Yellow Alert For 2 Dists This Afternoon

Bhubaneswar: While Odisha is likely to experience light to moderate rain till November 6 due to eastward movement of waves in Bay of Bengal, yellow warning has been issued for two districts till 5.45 pm on Thursday.

The yellow warning of light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning has been issued for some parts of Gajapati and Ganjam districts and people have been advised move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.

According to Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, light rain/thunderstorm may occur at one or two places in Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and Nabarangpur till 8.30 on Friday. Light to moderate rain/thunderstorm is likely at a few places in North Coastal Odisha, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Kandhamal and at one or two places in remaining parts of the state during the subsequent 24 hours.

On Saturday, light to moderate rain/thunderstorm may occur at a few places in South Coastal Odisha, Koraput, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Kandhamal and at one or two places in rest districts of North Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur.

Sunday will see light to moderate rain/thunderstorm at a few places in Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Koraput and at one or two places in districts of North Coastal Odisha, Khurda, Nayagarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi.

On Monday, light to moderate rain/thunderstorm is likely at one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Cuttack and Khurda districts.

Dry weather will prevail across the state thereafter, the weather agency said in its midday bulletin.

There will be no change in the night temperature during next 5 days, it added.

In the last 24 hours, Koraput recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 13.2 degree Celsius followed by G Udayagiri (14.8) and Daringdabi (15.5) in Kandhamal district and Kirei (15.8) in Sundargarh district.
