Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued a yellow warning for thunderstorm for three days, beginning Wednesday, while light to moderate rainfall will continue in Odisha for another five days.
Thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapasa, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi districts from 8.30 am on August 31 till 8.30 am on September 1, the MeT office said in its midday bulletin.
A similar warning has been issued for Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh districts from 8.30 am on September 1 till 8.30 am on September 2 and again for Nuapada, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balangir, Sonepur districts from 8.30 am on September 2 till 8.30 am on September 3.
According to the weather reports, six places across the state recorded 35 degree Celsius and above. Chandbali in Bhadrak district witnessed the highest temperature of 35.8 degree Celsius.
