Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued yellow warning of warmer nights in some places in Odisha for three days from April 2.
According to the midday bulletin, the day temperature is expected to fall by 3-4 degree Celsius during next 24 hours and then rise again by 4-5 degree at many places in the subsequent 2 days. The night temperature will remain unchanged for the next 2 days and witness a gradual rise by 2-3 degrees at many places in subsequent 3 days.
Hot and humid weather conditions are also likely to prevail across the state from April 2-6. “Due to anticipated rise in maximum temperature, presence of high humidity in the atmosphere, hot and humid weather conditions are very likely to prevail across the state from April 2-6. People are advised to take precautionary measures while going outside during peak hours of the day,” it added.
The mercury is likely to soar to 40 degree Celsius in Cuttack and hover around 39 degree Celsius in Bhubaneswar by April 4-5.
The weather agency has also forecast light to moderate rain/thundershowerat one or two places in Nuapada, Balangir, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Boudh, Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kendrapada, and Nabarangpur till Monday morning.
Dry weather will prevail across the state till April 5.

Light rain/thundershower is likely at one or two places in Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, and Balasore on April 6.
