Bhubaneswar: Health Minister Naba Kishore Das on Sunday said Odisha will roll out a COVID-19 vaccination program as per the Central government guidelines.
“Senior citizens, health and frontline workers would be given COVID-19 vaccine on a priority basis as announced by the Chief Minister earlier,” the minister added.
Notably, the state government had formed a vaccination committee on Saturday to streamline the COVID-19 immunization programme in Odisha.
The 21-member committee, to be headed by the director, Family Welfare, also includes a senior official of Universal Immunization Programme, Drugs Controller and heads of department of SCB Medical College and Hospital, and Capital Hospital. The committee will visit all the districts to review the COVID vaccination programme.
The government has also formed a district-level committee led by the Chief District Medical Officer as chairperson and additional director, Public Health as the other member.
