Odisha To Get More Rain As Fresh Cyclonic Circulation Likely To Form Over Bay Next Week

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday forecast that a fresh cyclonic circulation is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal next week.

In its midday weather bulletin, the IMD said that a fresh cyclonic circulation is expected to form over northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal around September 12.

Under the influence of the developing weather system Odisha is likely to experience more rain over the next five days with light to moderate rainfall or thundershower predicted at most places across the state.

Some places in several parts of the state are likely to witness thunderstorm with lightning while some are likely to experience heavy rainfall from Septembner 11. The IMD has issued a ‘Yellow Warning’ for these districts.

IMD’s Weather Forecast & Warning For Next 5 days:

Day 1 (Valid up to 8.30 am of 10.09.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha.

Day 2 (From 8.30 am of 10.09.2023 to 8.30 am of 11.09.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 3 (From 8.30am of 11.09.2023 to 8.30 am of 12.09.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated) Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, and Kandhamal.

Day 4 (From 8.30 am of 12.09.2023 to 8.30 am of 13.09.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated) 1)Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Boudh, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada.

2) Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Angul, Boudh, and Dhenkanal.

Day 5 (From 8.30 am of 13.09.2023 to 8.30 am of 14.9.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated) Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Khurda, Nayagarh, Boudh, and Jajpur.
