Bhubaneswar: Odisha will receive heavy rainfall for three days from the next 12 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned on Monday.
A special IMD bulletin said a low-pressure area has formed over the north-west Bay of Bengal and the neighbourhood under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal and South Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh coasts.
Besides, an associated cyclonic circulation above the mean sea level with a tilt in the south-west direction is very likely to become more marked during the next 24 hours. Under its influence, the state will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall at several places across Odisha starting from the next 12 hours.
In view of the heavy rainfall, IMD has issued orange and yellow warnings for the following districts till September 5.
September 3

Heavy to very heavy rainfall in the districts of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Puri, Rayagada, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack.
(Yellow warning)
Heavy rainfall in the districts of Malkangiri, Ganjam, Balangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj and Boudh.
September 4
(Orange warning)
Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Bargarh, Sambalpur and Naupada.
(Yellow warning)
Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Sonepur, Balangir, Koraput, Nabarangpur and Gajapati.
September 5
(Yellow warning)
Cuttack, Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Balangir.
In view of the inclement weather, fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea off the Odisha coast and west-central adjoining north Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours.
