Odisha To Receive More Rainfall Till July 7

Bhubaneswar: The south-west monsoon is gradually gaining momentum after remaining dormant for more than a week in Odisha and as a result, the state will start receiving more rainfall in the next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday.

According to an IMD bulletin, there will be thunderstorms and lightning at one or two places in the state with heavy rainfall mostly in the north and south coastal districts under the influence of a trough from the northwest Rajasthan running up to Nagaland across south Haryana, central parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, sub­Himalayan West Bengal and Assam and a north-­south trough running from northeast Bihar to south interior Odisha,

It further said there will be no change in the weather condition for the next four days and rainfall will continue in Odisha till July 7.

IMD has also issued yellow warning for the following districts:

July 4
Heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Khurda.

Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh and Kandhamal.

July 5
Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

July 6
Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul,  Boudh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak.

July 7
Heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada and Bargarh.

Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Koraput,  Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Balangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.
