Bhubaneswar: As many as 20 science parks and 30 science centres will be opened in Odisha, Science and Technology Minister Ashok Chandra Panda informed the Aassembly on Saturday.
The minister said this in reply to a question by Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja in the House.
Panda informed that the 20 science parks will be opened phase wise in 30 months. In the first phase, 10 parks will be constructed and the rest in the second phase.
Notably, there is one science park in Bhubaneswar.
The minister informed that new science parks will be opened in Keonjhar, Gopalpur, Baripada, Rayagada, Rourkela and Balangir.
Besides, 30 science centres will be opened across all the districts of Odisha. The state government will spend all the money in opening the science centres.
The government is also planning to set up planetariums in Baripada, Keonjhar, Gopalpur, and Rayagada, Panda said.
At present, there are two planetariums in Odisha.
