Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to set up special session sites for COVID vaccination of the vulnerable group.
According to a notification by Health department, the special session sites will be set up in all 30 districts, including urban localities.
The government’s decision came a day after the Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Pradipta Mohapatra in a letter had directed district collectors and civic body officials to identify people in vulnerable group and prepare a list for their vaccination.
Mohapatra said persons of the vulnerable group are deprived of the vaccination as they do not have any valid identity proof which is necessary for registration in the CoWin portal. As they are also at risk of exposure to COVID infection, there is a need to provide special consideration for their vaccination.
