Bhubaneswar: Odisha government will showcase the state’s handicraft products, tribal culture and delicacies in its pavilion at India International Trade Fair (IITF) scheduled to start in New Delhi from November 14.
Presiding a preparatory meeting in Bhubaneswar, development commissioner Anu Garg said the government has approved the state’s participation in the IITF that will continue from November 14 to 27. This year’s theme of the international trade fair is “Basudaiva Kutumbakam – United by Trade”.
Stating that Odisha’s handloom and handicraft products have a global recognition for their quality and craftmanship, Garg directed to highlight the concept in the IITF. Besides, jewellery, tribal products, and items produced by the state’s cottage industries will find prominent display at the fair.
The commissioner also suggested to give prominence to Odisha’s millet, Koraput coffee, organic turmeric and ginger in the pavilion besides highlighting the state’s rapid progress in tourism, sports and industry sectors.
She also stressed on various delicacies from across the state to be showcased at the food court of the trade fair.
It may be noted that Odisha was awarded for best display in the last year’s IITF.
