Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will organise a three-day conclave in Bhubaneswar next month to showcase the rapid development taking place in fisheries and animal resources sector in the state.
The three-day event would be held at Janata Maidan in the state capital from February 16 to 18. It will make people aware of the state’s potential for investment in fisheries and animal resources sector in the state.
After the success of fisheries and animal resources fairs held in different districts and the positive response from fishermen and others, the government has decided to organise the three-day convention in the state capital, Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain said on Wednesday.
Addressing a preparatory meeting ahead of the event, the Minister reviewed the arrangements being made for the conclave during which an exhibition would also be held.
Stalls would be opened to showcase the state’s potential in fisheries and animal husbandry, while seminars and workshops would offer an important platform for exchange of ideas on new techniques and methods in the sector.
The event would offer a platform for interface and linkage among farmers, SHGs, women entrepreneurs, market players, service providers. It will also enable them to showcase best products and practices.
Around 6,000 farmers, members of women SHGs, and entrepreneurs from different corners of the state will participate in the event where the government will highlight the potential of investment opportunities in fisheries and animal husbandry sector.
