Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) on Wednesday informed that the kin of the deceased in Odisha’s train accident have to visit AIIMS-Bhubaneswar to identify the bodies.

They need not go to any other hospital in the city for the purpose of identification, it added.

While revising the death toll in one of the country’s deadliest train mishaps, involving Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express, Bengaluru-Howrah super fast and a goods train, to 288, Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena had informed that 83 bodies are yet to be identified.

All the unidentified bodies have been securely placed in containers on the premises of the premier health institute in the city and are accessible to the relatives and friends for identification. A help desk has also been set up at the hospital to assist the relatives of the deceased.
