Nuapada: A trainee SI of police died after being run over by a coal-laden truck at Gotma Chhak under Jonk police limits in Odisha’s Nuapada district on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Sudhanshu Shekhar Pandey of Baira village in the district.
According to sources, Sudhanshu was visiting his family members on Nuakhai. The truck hit his bike while he was on his way to the nearby market and ran over him after he fell from the vehicle.
Police have seized the truck and detained its driver for questioning.
Sudhanshu, who earlier served as a constable, was recently promoted to the post of SI and was undergoing training in Angul.
