Bhubaneswar: The fourth edition of Odisha Travel Bazaar was inaugurated at Hotel Swosti Premium in Odisha’s capital on Friday.
Minister of Odia Language, Literature & Culture, Excise, and Tourism Ashwini Kumar Patra inaugurated the event in presence of Principal Secretary Tourism Surendra Kumar, OTDC Chairman Lenin Mohanty, Director of Tourism Sachin R. Jadhav, and Chairman Swosti Group J K Mohanty.
The 3-day event is being organised by the Odisha Tourism department in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). It aims to expand Odisha’s domestic and international connections and collaborations for the revival of the tourism and hospitality sector.
Around 82 domestic tour operators from cities including Aurangabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati and Hyderabad and 25 foreign tour operators from eight countries – Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Tanzania, Thailand and Vietnam – have been invited to take part in the Odisha Travel Bazaar, which is being held after a gap of two years due to the COVID pandemic, as prospective buyers.
“We are delighted that after the COVID gap, Odisha Travel Bazar is being organised and it will provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and interaction for domestic and foreign tourism stakeholders,” said Patra.
He further said that Odisha has a few places which are regarded as heavenly. The domestic and foreign operators will visit various tourist destinations in the state.
“With improved infrastructure, we are expecting better tourist inflow in the future, leading to an increase in revenue generation from this sector,” he added.
