Bhubaneswar: Two devotees from Puri died after being hit by a bus near Palasahi village under Naugaon police limits in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Chittaranjan Routray and Amit Sahu.
According to sources, four friends had travelled to Baba Gorakhnath temple, which is situated 13 km from Jagatsinghpur, on two motorcycles last night for darshan on the deity on the third Monday of the holy month of Shravan. The accident took place early this morning while they were returning home. Sahu died on the spot while Routray was rescued by locals and rushed to district headquarters hospital, where he breathed his last.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case and efforts are underway to trace the accused bus driver.
