Bhubaneswar: Odisha University of Health Sciences (OUHS) has conferred 13 professors of various disciplines with the prestigious ‘Professor Emeritus’ award.
The doctors were awarded at a function in OUHS campus in the presence of deans and directors of medical colleges on Tuesday. Most of them are reputed doctors at national and international level. ‘Professor Emeritus’ award is a rare recognition for life-long interest in teaching and academic activities, research work, and patient care with excellence.
The professors honoured include Dr Sindhunandini Tripathy, Dr Narayan Mishra, Dr Minati Patra, Dr Prasanna Dash, Dr Rabinarayayan Mallik, Dr Prafulla Kumar Chinara, Dr Purna Chandra Maharana, Dr Purna Chandra Mohapatra, Dr Sidharth Dash, Dr Sribasta Kumar Mohapatra and Dr Sadhu Charana Panda. Dr Narsing Charan Padhi and Dr Krishna Charan Padhy were honoured through video-conference.
Justice Dr P Choudhury was the chief guest and vice-chancellor Prof Manas Ranjan Sahu presided the function.
The event was an initiative of present vice-chancellor Dr Sahu. A visionary, he looks forward to working for the betterment of medical education, giving emphasis on the welfare of students, teachers, and the conducive environment and infrastructures for advancement of research work.
