Bhubaneswar: The Odisha University of Health Sciences has got a new building at Ekamra Kshetra in Bhubaneswar.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Niranjan Pujari on Wednesday inaugurated the building in presence of senior officers of the university and the department. He also inaugurated e-office developed by the National Informatics Centre, Bhubaneswar to ease the day-to-day functioning of the university.
The Odisha University of Health Sciences Act was passed in 2021 and the university started its operation in the Ekamra Kshetra Sishu Bhawan Square in 2022.
The university was established with an objective to streamline the medical and allied health science courses. From 2023-24 academic session, courses like MBBS, MD, MS, DM, MCh, BDS, MDS, BAMS, BHMS, B.Sc Nursing, M.Sc Nursing, BPT, MPT, BMLT, BMRT, BEMT, BOTT, BAT, BO, BOT, MOT, BPharm and MPharm offered in the affiliated colleges will be governed under the regulations and courses of studies prescribed by the university.
Prof Datteswar Hota, Vice-Chancellor of the university; Shalini Pandit, secretary, Heath and Family Welfare department; Vishal Kumar Dev, principal secretary, Finance department; Aurobinda Agrawal, secretary, Higher Education department and Saidutta Biplab Kumar Pradhan, Registrar were present.
