Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has ordered March 5 as the day of establishment of Odisha University of Health Sciences for imparting universal quality health education in allopathy, homeopathy, ayurveda, nursing, lab technology, and all other paramedical sciences in the state, coinciding with the 107th birth anniversary of Biju Patnaik.
The Odisha University of Health Sciences will have headquarters in Bhubaneswar, the notification issued by Health and Family Welfare Department said.
According to an official release, all the medical and allied health science colleges/institutions will beaffiliated to Odisha University of Health Sciences, Bhubaneswar, from the academic session 2023-24. “All colleges offering under graduate and post graduate degree courses in health sciences starting from modern medicine, dental science, ayurveda, homoeopathy, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and other allied health science courses will now come under its ambit,” it said.
