Jajpur: Tension erupted in Vyasanagar Autonomous College here after a girl student alleged misbehaviour by a lecturer.
The first year student alleged that the lecturer used to make advances towards and had promised good marks in exams. After the girl informed her friends about the incident, which she claimed was happening over a period of time, the students confronted the lecturer. They also alleged that in past also similar allegations were brought against him but each time, he managed to return to the college.
The lecturer, Tapas Ranjan Panda, however termed the allegations as baseless and said he has been helping students from poor financial backgrounds with books and studies and intended the same for the complainant.
The college authorities said it the matter will be investigated by a core committee.
