Puri: Yet another video captured on the premises of Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri town has posed serious questions on the security arrangements at the 12th-century shrine.
One Raja Saket reportedly shot the video in selfie mode inside the temple and posted it on his social media handle.
The video was recorded at different locations inside the temple, one of which was at Ananda Bazaar. From this location it could be ascertained that the recording was done during Rath Yatra (period), as it showed the three Holy Chariots on Bada Danda (the Grand Road).
The act is in violation of prohibitory orders of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA). It is a matter a serious concern that during Rath Yatra, when the pilgrim town is guarded by a posse of cops and the temple security is heightened, someone could manage to carry a mobile phone inside it.
The temple administration and Puri police are yet to issue any statement on this matter, reports stated.
Similar incidents in 2022 and 2017 had raised questions on the frisking methods adopted by security personnel deployed outside the temple.
