Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance has slapped a fresh case against suspended Sub-Inspector of Police Keshab Chandra Dash and arrested him again for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
A Vigilance release said on Wednesday that one more case has been slapped on Dash, former SI at Binjharpur Police Station, for possessing disproportionate assets (DA) to the tune of Rs 47,95,314/. Earlier, he was held following a trap on July 3, and simultaneous house searches linked to his properties were conducted by Vigilance.
In this connection, Vigilance has registered case vide Cuttack Vigilance PS case No.27/2024 against Dash and his spouse U/s 13(2)r/w13(1)(b)/12 P.C Act, as amended by P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018.
Following his release on bail in the trap case, Dash has been placed under arrest in the DA case and is being forwarded to court.
Earlier, on July 3, 2024, he was arrested and forwarded to court for being trapped by team of Odisha Vigilance, while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.5,000/- from son of a deceased person to provide him postmortem report and other related documents for insurance claim.
