Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Friday apprehended Nabin Kumar Sahoo, Principal of Govt (SSD) Higher Secondary School at Gopalpur in Kalahandi district, while allegedly accepting Rs 10,000 bribe.
According to Vigilance release, he had demanded the illegal gratification from a parent for admission of her daughter in Plus II Science stream and to help her during practical examination. He was caught taking the bribe in his office chamber and the entire amount was recovered and seized from him.
Besides registration of a case under Section 7 of PC (Amendment) Act, 2018, simultaneous searches are on at two locations linked to Sahoo to ascertain whether he has accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, it added.
