Koraput: Odisha Vigilance on Friday arrested ARI-cum-incharge RI of Kumuli Circle under Koraput’s Boriguma Tehsil, Surendra Tanti, on charges of accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Vigilance sources said that Tanti could not account for three multi-storied buildings, 17 plots, deposits worth over Rs 84 lakh, 150 grams of gold, Rs 1.55 lakh in cash, and three four-wheelers, detected during raids at eight place, including Tanti’s official chamber at Kumuli, the previous day.
Assets detected in the name of Tanti and his family members are as follows:
1. One double-storey building over 2,000 sqft area at Boriguma, Koraput.
2. Another double-storey building over 2,000 sqft area at Jhilimili, Boriguma, Koraput.
3. One building at Jhilimili, Boriguma, Koraput
4. 17 plots in and around Boriguma
5. Rs.1,55,000 in cash
6. Bank & insurance deposits amounting to Rs 84,00,827
7. Gold jewellery weighing 152 grams.
8. 3 four-wheelers (Bolero, Mahindra SUV & Maruti Alto) & a two-wheeler and household articles.
