Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested Athagarh Block Development officer (BDO) Pradeep Kumar Sahu, an OAS officer, for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Two buildings, a flat in Bhubaneswar, 3 plots, Rs 6 lakh in cash, deposits worth over Rs 47 lakh, 452 gram of gold and two four-wheelers, which he could not account for satisfactorily, were unearthed during simultaneous house searches at 8 places on Wednesday, a Vigilance release said.
Assets detected in the name of Sahu and his family members during the raids are as follows:
1) Single-storey building over plot no 444/1439 at Bhaliabadi near old police station, Khurda.
2) Another building at Rajsunakhala Sahi, Rajsunakhala, Nayagarh district.
3) A flat at Shree Enclave, Gautam Nagar, Bhubaneswar.
4) 3 plots in Khurda and Rajsunakhala, Nayagarh
5) Rs 6 lakh in cash
6) 300-gram gold jewellery and 500-gram silver ornaments
7) Two four-wheeler and four two-wheelers
The raids were carried out in Bhubaneswar, Khurda, Nayagarh, and Athagarh (Cuttack).
