Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Saturday arrested Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) of Hirakud Wild Life Division, Sambalpur, Rebati Raman Joshi for allegedly accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The came a day after huge assets, including three buildings, including a triple storey in Sambalpur town worth Rs.1.80 crore, four flats (one in Bhubaneswar and 3 in Sambalpur), seven plots and Rs 14.71 lakh cash, were unearthed during raids on properties linked to him.
A Vigilance release said that Joshi could not satisfactorily account for these assets.
Till Friday evening, the Vigilance sleuths had detected a three-storey building at Ainthapali, a commercial building at Malipali in Sambalpur, another building at Padmapur in Bargarh, a flat at Ghatikia in Bhubaneswar, 3-BHK flat at Farm Road, two 2-BHK flat near Church Chhak and seven plots in prime locations of Sambalpur and Bargarh.
The officials also seized Rs 14.5 lakh cash, besides gold jewellery weighing 150 gm and silver ornaments of 300 gm, bank & insurance deposits amounting to Rs 31,31,849, a two-wheeler and household articles worth Rs 9.13 lakh.
