Nuapada: Vigilance sleuths arrested Khariar Block Development Officer (BDO) Narayan Sahoo for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets (DA) to the tune of 106% more than his known sources of income.
During house searches by the Vigilance officers, the following movable and immovable assets in the name of Sahoo and his family members were unearthed:
- One double-storey building worth Rs 88 lakh a
t the backside of Vatika Hotel, Balangir town - Land/plots in and around Balangir
- Rs.3.99 lakh in cash
- Bank and insurance deposits worth over Rs.13.49 lakh
- 764-gram gold jewellery and 720-gram silver ornaments worth over Rs.36 lakh
- A four-wheeler (Hyundai Creta) worth Rs.14.38 lakh and 2 two-wheelers
- Household articles worth over Rs.7 lakh.
Following his arrest, late on Wednesday, he was remanded to jail custody till January 31. Sahoo and his spouse have been booked under Sections 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 of the Prevention (Amendment) Act, 2018.
