Bhubaneswar: A panchayat executive officer (PEO) in Odisha, arrested earlier on corruption charge, has landed in another Vigilance case.
According to a release of Odisha Vigilance on Friday, one more case was instituted against Sanyasi Nayak, former PEO of Kaniguma panchayat under Thuamul Rampur block of Kalahandi district, for possessing disproportionate assets (DA) of Rs 68,06,278.
Nayak was arrested after being trapped by team of Odisha Vigilance on May 27 while taking bribe of Rs 10,000 from a complainant for processing Muster Roll and facilitating labour payment in connection with construction of check dam under MGNREG scheme in connection in Koraput.
Odisha Vigilance had registered a case in this connection against Nayak and his spouse under PC Act, as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.
