Odisha Vigilance Arrests PEO For Embezzling Rs 7.35 Lakh Old Age Pension Funds

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance has arrested a former Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) for allegedly misappropriating government funds meant for Old Age Pension (OAP) beneficiaries in Pimpudia panchayat under Sukinda Block of Jajpur district.

Accused Santosh Kumar Jena, currently attached to Danagadi Block in Jajpur district, is accused of embezzling Rs 7.35 lakh without distributing the funds to the intended beneficiaries.

Following a thorough investigation, the Vigilance sleuths found evidence of misappropriation which led to his arrest. He was subsequently forwarded to the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack.

A case (Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No 26/2025) has been registered against Jena under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
