Bhubaneswar: A Revenue Inspector (RI) was arrested by Odisha Vigilance officials on Saturday for allegedly accepting Rs 9,000 bribe from a man for to submit inquiry report relating to land conversion in Bonth area of Bhadrak district.
The accused was identified as Sarat Kumar Jena, RI, Kenduapada Revenue Circle under Bonth Tahasil in Bhadrak district.
He was apprehended while demanding and accepting Rs 9,000/- from a complainant to submit enquiry report to Tahasildar, Bonth in connection with conversion of paternal agricultural land to homestead land and issuance of ROR (Gharbari Patta).
The entire bribe money has been recovered from the exclusive possession of the accused RI and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of Jena from DA angle.
In this connection, a case has been registered and investigation is in progress.
