Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Saturday apprehended an Amin posted in the office of Kirmira Tehsildar in Odisha’s Jharsuguda, on charges of bribery.
According to the Vigilance, the Amin, Bhaskar Meher was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 for submission of field verification report.
The complainant in this case had approached the anti-corruption agency after the Amin allegedly demanded bribe on plea of wrong map of the plot attached with the sale deed, the Vigilance stated.
Rourkela Vigilance have registered a case and booked Meher under Section 7 of the P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018.
“Investigation in this case is on,” a Vigilance official stated.
