Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Monday detected five buildings, 2 flats in Bhubaneswar & Bargarh, 52 plots, a farm house and 230 grams gold during simultaneous raids on Joint Commissioner of Excise, Bhubaneswar, Rama Chandra Mishra for allegedly amassing asset disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to a Vigilance release, simultaneous house searches are being conducted by 10 DSPs, 15 inspectors and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, at 10 locations in Bhubaneswar, Sonepur, Balangir, Bargarh and Sambalpur, including his office.
ASSETS UNEARTHED
1) Two triple-storey and a single-storey buildings at Thikadarpada, Balangir.
2) A double-storey building at Burla, Sambalpur.
3) A 2BHK flat at Chandrama Complex, Kharavela Nagar, Bhubaneswar.
4) A 2-BHK flat at Badriprashad Apartment in Bargarh.
5) A single-storey building at Sonepur.
6) A non-operational rice mill at Tarbha, Sonepur.
7) A farm house in Sonepur
8) 52 plots in Sambalpur, Balangir and Sonepur.
9) 230.39 gm gold
The measurement and valuation/assessment of the buildings, flats and plots are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing. Bank, postal, insurance and other deposits are also being ascertained, it added.
