Odisha Vigilance Detects Rs 1.28 Crore More In Bank Accounts Of Suspended IFS Officer’s Son Akash

Bhubaneswar: The total amount of deposits in different bank accounts of Akash Kumar Pathak, son of suspended IFS officer Abhay Kant Pathak, crossed Rs 16 crore with Vigilance officials detecting more deposits during investigation.

The officials found cash deposits of Rs 1.28 crore of Akash in the bank accounts in Bhubaneswar and Pune, the Vigilance said. With this, his total deposits in 3 bank accounts have gone up to Rs 16.05 crore, including cash deposits of Rs 10.76 crore.

This amount excludes his bank accounts and insurance policies in Berhampur and Balangir which are under verification.

The Vigilance has already referred the matter related to the recovery of deposits from bank accounts of Akash to Income Tax Department and Enforcement Directorate for probe.

Akash and his father were arrested by the Vigilance on charges of having properties disproportionate to their known sources of income.
