Odisha Vigilance Nabs JE While Taking Bribe, Rs 2.16 Lakh Seized During Raid

Bhubaneswar: A Junior Engineer (JE) was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance sleuths from Bolgarh in Khurda district for allegedly accepting Rs 19,200 bribe from a man to facilitate release of bills.

The accused has been identified as Nrusingha Nath Pradhan, posted as Gram Panchayat Technical Assistant (JE) of Bolagarh Block in Khurda district, official sources said.

He was caught by Vigilance officials while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 19,200/- from a complainant for facilitating release of bill towards construction of cultural centre in Khanguria GP under Bolagarh Block. The entire bribe money has been recovered from the accused and seized.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at four locations of Pradhan from Disproportionate Assets angle.

During search at his government quarters, Rs 2,16, 900/- cash has been unearthed and seized. Further searches are going on.
