Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance has arrested 42 government officials for indulging in corrupt practices in 2022 so far, Director Vigilance, Y K Jethwa informed on Monday.
Among those arrested, 14 are Class 1 officers.
“We are enhancing the human resource capabilities and infrastructure to meet future challenges with the support of the government. Opening the doors of Vigilance further for officials from other wings of government as well as professional experts such as bankers, CAs and engineers is in the pipeline. Also, procurement of forensic and electronic aids for detection and Investigation is also being done,” he said.
The Odisha Vigilance is committed to further strengthen its anti-corruption actions with these inputs and achieve better results in the coming days, he added.
Notably, the Odisha Vigilance made the highest ever cash seizure of Rs 1.36 crore from the houses of Ashis Kumar Dash, Superintendent Engineer, Rural Works, Malkangiri, during raids in the last four days.
