Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday unearthed a triple-storey building, three flats, 28 plots and bank deposits worth Rs 82.80 lakh during simultaneous raids on Chief Engineer & Basin Manager, Baitarani Basin, Keonjhar, Kailash Chandra Sahu on allegation of accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to a Vigilance release, simultaneous raids were conducted by teams comprising one Additional SP, four DSPs, seven inspectors, 7 ASIs, and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Keonjhar, at 10 places in Bhubaneswar, Puri, Cuttack, Jajpur and Keonjhar, including his government quarters and office chamber.
Assets detected so far include:
1. A triple-storey residential building (under construction) over 8821 sqft area oin Mouza- Mrutyunjaypur under Vyasanagar Tehsil, Jajpur district.
2. A flat on 3rd floor in Jagannath Mansion Apartment at Bhoi Nagar, Unit-9, Bhubaneswar.
3. A flat on the 3rd floor, Block-A, in Dharma Heaven Apartment, Unit 3, Mangalaghat, Puri.
4. A flat on the 2nd Floor, Block-B, in Jagabandhu Bhawan/Apartment at Dolipur Unit 8, Vyasanagar, Jajpur.
5. One Shop of area approx 138 sqft in 1st Floor in Jagabandhu Bhawan/Apartment at mouza Unit No.8 over Plot No.673/933, Khata No.260, Vyasanagar, Jajpur.
6. 28 valuable plots (1 in Cuttack, 4 in Khurda and 23 in Jajpur).
7. Bank deposits worth Rs 82,80,058
8. One four-wheeler and 3 two-wheelers.
Other deposits and investments are being ascertained, the release added.
