Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday unearthed a palatial multi-storey building, a farm house with a double-storey building, five plots Rs 6.23 lakh and deposits over Rs 60 lakh during raids on properties linked to Additional Chief Engineer of Central Irrigation Circle, Bhubaneswar, Rajesh Chandra Mohanty on allegation of possessing assets disproportionate to known sources of income.

The cash was found in multiple envelopes, each marked with references to specific projects and agreements, indicating systematic bribe solicitation by Mohanty.

The raids are being carried out at six places across four districts. “Simultaneous searches are being conducted by teams led by 1 Addl SP, 11 DSPs, 9 inspectors, 8 ASIs, and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack,” a Vigilance release said.

nty and his family members are as follows:

1. A palatial triple-storey building over 3000 sqft area at Baramunda Housing Board Colony, Lane-8, Bhubaneswar.

2. One farm house along with a double-storey building over 4000 sqft area, spread over 1.71 dcml at Bimbol, Bhapur, Dhenkanal.

3. 5 valuable plots including one at Bhubaneswar and four at Bimbol, Bhapur, Dhenkanal.

4. Rs 6,23,000 in cash.

5 Deposits amounting to Rs 60.09 lakh.

7. Two four wheelers (Hyundai Sportz & Honda City) and as many two wheelers.

The release added that flight tickets worth Rs 13.47 lakh pertaining to Mohanty’s travel are under verification. The Vigilance Technical Wing is conducting the measurement and valuation of the buildings, farmhouses, and plots. The seized gold ornaments are being weighed.

The raids are currently at these places:

1. Residential triple-storey building at Baramunda Housing Board Colony, Lane-8, Bhubaneswar.

2. Paternal house at Kolhasingh village under Badachana police limits in Jajpur district.

3. House of his relative at Deula Sahi, Jubilee Town, Dhenkanal district.

4.Office chamber of Mohanty in Bhubaneswar.

5. A double-storey building and farm house at Bimbol, Bhapur, Dhenkanal.

6. House of his close associate at Nayabazar, Chauliaganj, Cuttack.
