Odisha Vigilance Raids Sambalpur CADA Executive Engineer Over Disproportionate Assets



Sambalpur: The Odisha Vigilance department on Tuesday launched simultaneous raids on properties linked to Padmalochan Nayak, an Executive Engineer of the Command Area Development Authority (CADA), Sambalpur Division.

The anti-corruption agency initiated the crackdown following allegations that Nayak has accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The raids is being carried out by four DSPs, 13 inspectors, seven ASIs, and additional supporting personnel at


seven locations across four districts – Sambalpur, Kataka, Baleshwar, and Malkangiri – on the strength of search warrants issued by the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.

In Sambalpur, teams are searching Nayak’s rented residential house as well as his official chamber, both located in the Dhanupali area.

The raid has also extended to his native place and properties in other districts. This includes a triple-story residential building owned by Nayak in Bidyadharpur, Kataka, and a double-story residential house in Mukhalis, under the jurisdiction of Basta police limits in Baleshwar district. Furthermore, the agency has extended its scanner to Nayak’s inner circle, conducting searches at two separate residential locations belonging to his associates in Kataka city, and another associate’s property at Kalimela in Malkangiri.

According to Vigilance officials, the search operations are currently underway to ascertain the exact valuation of the movable and immovable properties held by the engineer. A detailed report regarding the total volume of detected assets will be released once the searches conclude.
